Celta Vigo’s Spanish right-back Oscar Mingueza is a target for RB Leipzig.
Spanish outlet Relevo reported on Saturday that German giants RB Leipzig are interested in signing Spanish right-back Oscar Mingueza from Celta Vigo, who has a €20 million release clause.
Online sports portal “Relevo” serves as the source of the rumor. Mingueza presently plies his trade at La Liga side Celta Vigo after Barça allowed him to depart on a free in the summer of 2022. At that time, the player’s estimated market worth was only €7 million. Over the past two-plus years, Mingueza has been able to pump his estimated worth back up to €12 million in the latest transfermarkt update.
Mingueza has impressed for Celta Vigo since joining from Barcelona in the summer of 2022, earning a call-up to the Spain squad by Luis de la Fuente and making two appearances for the Spanish side this season. The 25-year-old right-back has scored two goals and provided three assists, leading to speculation linking the Blaugrana with a move back to the club.
According to Relevo, Germany’s RB Leipzig have also expressed their intention to sign Mingueza, with the Red Bulls ready to pay the player’s €20 million release clause, with Barcelona set to receive €10 million.
While Celta Vigo are also trying to buy the Promotion ufabet remaining 50 percent rights from Barcelona and make a new deal with Mingueza to replace his current contract which expires in the summer of 2026, with the main aim being to increase his release clause beyond the current value.
