Barcelona vice-president Rafael Yuste has admitted he did not expect the Blaugrana, packed with young talent from La Masia, to achieve so much success so soon after winning three trophies in Hansi Flick’s first year in charge.
Lamine Yamal has been one of Barcelona’s standout players this season, according to the club’s vice-president.

Yuste also spoke about La Masia, one of the pillars of Barcelona’s success this season: ‘In addition to giving back to our partners with success, one of the pillars of our mission is La Masia. That is non-negotiable.’
‘La Masia is the backbone of this club. We have to keep betting on La Masia, but above all we have to make the coach believe in the players and let them play.’
Yuste also gave credit to Hansi Flick for all the team’s success, referring to the highest civilian honour awarded in Catalonia, saying: ‘He deserves two Creus de Sant Jordi’.
Asked which player deserves special recognition for the club’s success, Yuste replied: ‘It’s a young team with some experience and if there’s one player who stands out, it’s Lamine Yamal.
