Beatles-Cember: “Fixing a Hole”

There really isn’t much to this song worth examining. At its core, “Fixing a Hole” is about doing just that, fixing a minor problem to keep your mind occupied with a task. Though there is a reference to Paul McCartney’s off-putting experiences with fans, the song, to me, has always been memorable because of the off-kilter arrangement. Not surprising since this was on the Sgt. Pepper album, but the lyrics and the music paint a slightly mental picture of someone just sitting in a room, obsessing over the cracks and paint on the wall.
