Let’s get trippy! When the Beatles went into full on psychedelic rock, they went there and “I Am the Walrus” is proof of that. It’s also proof that John Lennon has a wicked sense of humor because he wrote the song to be purposefully nonsensical when a student wrote him and said that his teacher was having the class analyze the lyrics of Beatles songs. So Lennon responded with a song that is essentially meaningless. Of course, attach it to an album full of experimental and traditional songs, as well as add a weird-ass video and you’re bound to make an impression.

And because I’m feeling generous, and it’s Saturday, here’s Jim Carrey’s cover that he did for a charity album supervised by none other than George Martin.
